Client: Dear Pixel
Project: MHL “Sales” boxes
Problem: Customer needed a Sales Kit box that was able stand up to the abuse of being opened and closed. Another part of the criteria is that all the items inside the box had to be able to be retrieved and put back into the box without too much fuss.
Solution:Our design/production team put together a distinctive box that used magnet(s) for the closure of the lid making it so there would be no damage from opening and closing the box.
For the items inside which included a phone and or laptop the team designed it so all items were locked into position by a cavity built in to a box tray or positioned to be held in by a secondary tray or the lid of the box.
Specifications:Printed on white permanent adhesive vinyl then applied to a E-Flute corrugate substrate and matte laminated. All pieces were laser cut, glued into shape and assembled as a finished product.
Client: Bell Sports
Project: Product Catalogs
Bell Sports wanted to incorporate spot varnishes into their catalog designs, giving important images & product shots a visual “pop”.
Far Western Graphics used a cost effective technique that incorporates the use of a spot matte varnish along with a high gloss flood aqueous coating. This process eliminated running the sheet through the press for extra passes as with standard gloss & matte varnish dry-trap methods.
The result is a product that looks great, dries quickly & seals the entire sheet in one clean pass eliminating common problems that occur with varnish.
We also had the pleasure of producing Bell’s 50th Anniversary 2004 Product Catalogs. This included a Wire-O bound catalog with die-cut mylar tabs and a “2004 Product Line” CD-Rom within a transparent plastic sleeve glued to the inside back cover. The second catalog had a multi-level blind embossed cover on an exotic metallic grey stock.
Client: Maxim Integrated Products
Project: Packaged Index Card
Problem: Maxim Integrated Products approached Far Western Graphics on a very challenging project that three other printers failed to produce a solution. This very unique project was a marketing piece that was going to be distributed globally to new clients, and due to the turn time requested it was nearly impossible to complete the finished product unless every stage of this project went according to plan.
Solution:As always our production team went into action to tackle this most delicate and precise piece, making a few out of the box suggestions to Maxim on cost cutting and time saving methods. The impact and results were impeccable! We received an email in response to the one-off proof which read, wanted to touch base with you on the package index cards as it was recently shown to our CTO, and he loved it! He wants to place another order for 2,000 more on top of the 5,000 that are currently in production.
Specifications:4 ½”x 3 ½” packaged index card printed 4/4 on 16pt C2S with 21 individual IC chips hand glued to an exact position. Some of the smaller chips had to be placed and glued with tweezers under magnification. The finished cards were then inserted individually into a clear cello custom envelope.
Project: Special event Invites
Problem: LoopNet wanted a very unique event invitation to heighten the effects of an their event.
Solution: Our team was able to print directly on dibond with the event information then die cut out to a guitar shape with everyone getting their very own personal back stage passes with their names printed directly on to the pass. Additionally FWG attached a mini iPod and then shipping to over 1500 individual locations and all done within a two week time period. With FWG handling all the aspects of the project we were able to meet the criteria of a unique invite within a certain budget on a timely basis.
Specifications: printed 4 color process 1 side on brushed aluminum Dibond with variable data, routed into a guitar shape, boxed with mini IPod, labeled and shipped to 1500 addresses
Client: ACE Metrix
Project: “The Black Book”
Problem: Customer wanted a new look, and feel for a custom book to stand out in the television advertising brand performance as a guide book in the United States. These books are design for short run digital market, with the pages changing out per edition.
Solution:Our design/production team put together a unique style book that has a combination of a case bound book and wire o capabilities to give the user the ability to lay the book flat for the presentation. When our customer leaves this book behind it makes a professional statement of quality and experience to that special end user.
Specifications:116 page + Case-bound cover. Cover flat foil stamp 2 color (black & silver foil) 1 side on Black linen cloth; Text pages printed 4 color process through-out on 80lb Gloss Cover. Finishing/Bindery: Text pages inserted and hidden wire-o (Black) Final finished size 14″ x 8.5″

Safeway had a substantial promotion coming up, and needed a company that could facilitate all of the components, so they chose Far Western Graphics.
The Fuel promotion consisted of kits containing Banners, Pump Toppers, Ironman Signage, 3-inch full color buttons, and printed latex balloons. By having our offset capabilities and large format department in the same facility, we were able to provide consistency throughout the job. Far Western was able to manage the offset, large format, buttons, balloons, and fulfillment all in one location.
The Fuel promotion was not only for Safeway but it also included their affiliate stores Randalls, Tom Thumb, Vons, and Carrs.
The promotion did so well, that Far Western is also doing the follow-up Fuel promotions. This time with the addition of Dominicks and some of the Eastern Safeway stores.
